Senior Network Engineer
Contract Length: 6-9 months with potential extension
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
This role is built for a network professional who lives and breathes F5 BIG-IP and genuinely enjoys untangling complex enterprise environments. The Senior Network Engineer will own the design, build, and continuous improvement of a growing enterprise LAN and WAN environment with a heavy focus on F5 traffic management and application delivery optimization. The right candidate will be the person teams turn to for root cause analysis, the one who writes the playbook others follow, and an engineer trusted to lead implementations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field
  • CCNA Certification Required
  • Highly Preferred Certifications: F5 101, 201, 301, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE (Routing & Switching, Service Provider, or Data Center)
  • 6+ years of recent experience designing and building out LAN and WAN environments, including large-scale network retrofits and remediations
  • Strong, current hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP solutions including LTM, GTM, load balancing, remote access, and application delivery optimization
  • Solid foundational networking knowledge with the ability to learn quickly and work independently
  • Experience with SolarWinds monitoring and Forescout NAC and device profiling in a Software Defined Access environment
  • Advanced experience with technologies such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, QoS, IPv6, VLAN, port-channels, and related enterprise routing and switching protocols
  • Multi-vendor experience across Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR, NX-OS, and Aruba wireless with ClearPass
  • Experience in a service provider, data center, hosting, or large-scale enterprise network environment

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Design, plan, and lead the build-out of enterprise LAN and WAN infrastructure with a strong focus on F5 BIG-IP traffic management and application delivery
  • Serve as a technical liaison gathering network requirements from internal teams, vendors, and third-party providers
  • Develop maintenance plans, detailed documentation, and change management coordination for upgrades and installations
  • Lead hardware and software maintenance, scripting, and testing across the network environment
  • Manage SolarWinds monitoring and backups and oversee Forescout device profiling across the enterprise
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis sessions and drive continuous improvement in networking practices and standards
  • Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures and Methods of Procedure for the network team
  • Train and mentor internal teams on new network topologies, hardware, and technologies
  • Manage ticket queues, respond on-site to escalations, and coordinate proof of concepts and vendor solutions
  • Monitor network capacity and proactively plan for bandwidth and infrastructure growth
