Critical Care Ground Transport Paramedic (CCGTP)

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the lead clinician on an ALS Critical Care ground ambulance
  • Perform advanced life support and critical care interventions for interfacility patients
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, triage, treatment, and evaluation during transport
  • Practice with a high degree of clinical autonomy while following established medical protocols
  • Document the full clinical process accurately in the patient care record
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned drivers, ensuring safe transport operations
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor to team members, sharing expertise and best practices
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, hospital teams, and external partners
  • Participate in community outreach and education initiatives
  • Uphold and advance the mission, values, and safety standards of Shands Healthcare/ShandsCair

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Florida-licensed Paramedic (current and in good standing)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS required upon hire
  • Minimum 2 years of pre-hospital Paramedic experience
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Completion of a Florida-approved EVOC driving course

Preferred & Advanced Credentials
  • ITLS or PHTLS (preferred at hire; required within 1 year)
  • CCEMT-P, UFCCP, FP-C, and NRP (preferred; required within 1 year)
  • Experience in critical care transport
  • Instructor status in EMS certifications
