Job description

Make a difference in students’ lives as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) for a part-time maternity leave coverage. This opportunity begins in early October and extends through late December, with flexibility to shadow and get acclimated prior to the official start. The role is based at a high school in the Derby area, serving an engaged caseload and collaborating directly with school staff.

Position Details:

  • Part-time schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
  • Approximate hours: 20 per week, flexible based on caseload needs and completion of responsibilities
  • Coverage dates: October 4, 2026–December 23, 2026, with the option to start 1-2 weeks earlier to shadow the current SLP
  • Caseload: Work with 46 students, focusing on both consult (1,085 hours) and direct service (750 hours)
  • Setting: On-site at a Derby-area high school; virtual/remote is not an option

Qualifications:

  • ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) required
  • Experience providing speech-language services in a school setting preferred
  • Strong consultation and collaboration skills
  • Ability to effectively manage a moderate caseload and provide both direct and consultative services
  • Ready references required before interviewing
  • Must be able to attend an in-person interview (virtual interview also available if needed)
