What is a CBP Processing Coordinator?

CBP Processing Coordinators are professionals who assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in managing and coordinating the processing of travelers, cargo, and documentation at ports of entry. Their responsibilities may include verifying documents, facilitating communication between different agencies, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations. They play a critical role in streamlining border operations and maintaining the lawful flow of people and goods into and out of the country. CBP Processing Coordinators must be detail-oriented, well-organized, and knowledgeable about current customs procedures and security protocols.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CBP Processing Coordinator?

Familiarity with CBP systems like ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and certifications such as the Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) are typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure help set top candidates apart.
