Job description

The Commissioning Project Manager (CxPM) will be Pepper’s internal resource during the commissioning process. This role manages the commissioning process from Pepper’s perspective, including acting as Pepper’s main point of contact with the 3rd party commissioning agent (CxA). This positionwill also manage Pepper’s Trade Partners to ensure completion of commissioning tasks (checklist completion, testing, etc.).

This is a field-based role.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviews commissioning plan as provided by the 3rd party CxA
  • Tracks L1, L2, and L3 checklist completion in the project-specific commissioning platform, such as CxAlloy or Facility Grid (or independently if no tracking mechanisms are provided by the CxA)
  • Reviews commissioning test scripts for conformity with actual project equipment and sequences of operation (SOO)
  • Conducts or attends controls/SOO review meeting with the CxA and controls contractor(s)
  • Attends project commissioning meetings
  • Periodically reviews project schedule and reports concerns to the Pepper project team.
  • Reports commissioning progress to the Pepper project team.
  • Coordinates L2/L3 checklist completion and issue resolution with the CxA and trade partners. L2/L3 checklists and issues must be 100% closed before L4 testing.
  • Conducts commissioning pull planning meeting in support of L4 testing
  • Coordinates L4 and L5 testing with the project team, the CxA, and the trade partners.
  • Coordinates L4 issue resolution with the CxA and trade partners. L4 issues must be 100% closed before L5 IST
  • Acts as champion of the commissioning process both internally to Pepper and externally to existing and potential customers

Qualifications:

  • 4-year engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ commissioning experience either as a commissioning agent or in support of GC/MC/EC commissioning process
  • Complex MEP project commissioning experience (such as hospitals, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or industrial) is required.
  • Data center commissioning experience is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to communicate with and manage the expectations of a diverse group of stakeholders, including commissioning agents, project teams, contractors, and owners. Must be able to lead meetings and make decisions in support of the project team. 
  • Industry-recognized certification (such as CxP, BCxP, CBCP) or the ability to gain such certification is preferred.
