Position Summary: The Student Admissions Ambassador or CAV Leader at JCCC serves as a primary receptionist by greeting all guests and visiting campus community members. The Admissions Ambassador ensures that visitors are acknowledged and that they feel welcome. The Admissions Ambassadors support the Recruitment Coordinator and recruitment team. An integral component of the job is working as part of a team of students and recruitment staff to provide quality tours and visit experiences for all college guests. The Admissions Ambassador is a highly visible student employee who will have a vast array of knowledge about the Student Services and Engagement as well as academic and support programs across campus to provide accurate information to visitors. The Admissions Ambassadors will be a part of a collaborative recruitment department that supports coworkers by utilizing available computer systems and technology to maintain accurate databases and information for reporting purposes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma and a minimum of 12 completed credit hours at JCCC with a 2.5 or higher GPA.
  • Maintained enrollment in at least 12-credit hours at JCCC
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • DELIVER QUALITY CAMPUS VISITS - Provide a welcoming and engaging environment that caters to the needs of prospective students and propels the to enroll at JCCC. This will be accomplished by working closely with student services and relaying timely and accurate requests to recruitment team including academic departments requests. Tours and visits will be provided to ensure a successful connection and superior visit to campus is presented and maintained. Performance is acceptable when: a. Comprehensive individual tours are provided in a detailed and personalized manner. b. Group tours are customized to suit the needs of the visiting organization. c. Large campus events are supported through positive interactions that could include: student panels, tours, and individual contacts. d. Detailed requests via web, phone, email, and walk-in for each visit are obtained and handled in a professional and timely manner, striving to ensure accuracy of information is collected. 
  • ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES - Work as a part of a collaborative ambassador team that supports prospective student development and relationships with academic and support services across the college. Deliver extensive knowledge of JCCC in a precise and informed manner to prospective student inquiries and on campus personnel. Provide outreach to various audiences to encourage matriculation to JCCC, including making outbound calls to recent campus visitors, applicants, and/or those who submit credentials. Performance is acceptable when: a. Accurate and detailed information is acquired and recorded. b. Responsible for reviewing visit and tour schedules c. Responsible that all campus visit materials are prepared for daily including visit folder, personalized visit agendas, water bottles, and t-shirts. d. Ensure that prospective students and guests are checking in and understand their itinerary for the day e. Extensive knowledge of JCCC departments along with academic and support programs is acquired and expanded upon to ensure prospective students are provided comprehensive information about opportunities available at JCCC. f. Phone calls, emails, web requests and written correspondence are recorded and followed up with in a timely manner. g. Efforts are made to ensure positive relationships are created and maintained with JCCC faculty and staff along with high schools and community organizations. h. JCCC computer systems are implemented and utilized for recruitment efforts. i. Support Recruitment Coordinator as needed
