Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a CAV Tech Transfer Engineer to join high-impact a high - impact engineering team advancing next - generation connected & automated vehicle (CAV) technologies . This role is located in McLean, VA through 100% full onsite presence . The CAV Tech Transfer Engineer will support technology transfer, stakeholder engagement, testing, & deployment activities that accelerate nationwide adoption of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and Cooperative Driving Automation (CDA) technologies. Responsibilities of the CAV Tech Transfer Engineer include: Provide technical assistance to researchers, government agencies, & industry stakeholders on deploying & operating, ITS, V2X, CAV, & CDA technologies, including support for open-source tools such as V2X Hub & CAV message creator utilities Troubleshoot, configure, & validate connected vehicle hardware & software systems, including Ous, RSUs, networking equipment, & transportation simulation tools Perform hands-on engineering work with COTS devices, traffic signal controllers, CAV equipment & real-world testbeds, including prototyping, assembly, & system configuration Support project execution through documentation, stakeholder outreach, customer interaction, & contributions to project planning & direction Conduct lab & field operations, such as equipment setup, safety driver duties, & maintenance of testbeds & laboratory assets Lead & support community-of-practice activities, workshops, & technology transfer initiatives Qualifications of the CAV Tech Transfer Engineer include: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Automotive, Computer Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of technical experience in configuring, integrating, or testing V2X/ITS equipment Experience engaging stakeholders & communicating technical concepts clearly to both technical & non-technical audiences Working knowledge of connected vehicle communication standards & familiarity with transportation or communication systems Hands-on ability to test & troubleshoot complex power, communication, or networking systems Active Public Trust clearance
Compensation for the CAV Tech Transfer Engineer includes: * Salary: $80,000-$110,000 depending on experience * Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Plan, Holidays, PTO, sick leave as required by law
