POSITION SUMMARY:
Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings. Assisting with production & handling of TurnStyles' donations and moving merchandise from the donation bay, through inspection, testing, pricing and on to the sales floor. The Production associate will work to reach a daily quote for items produced to the sales floor. This will be under the direction of the Production Manager while supporting sales and profitability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensures that each customer receives superior service
  • Greet all donors upon arrival and offer donation receipt
  • Assist on donation pick-ups and furniture delivery on the box truck as needed.
  • Pick up parish bin donations as needed using the Turnstyles truck.
  • Ensures that donations are processed according to policy and procedure
  • Ensures compliance with Catholic Charities policies and TurnStyles policies
  • Assist staff with furniture, appliance and electronics pricing, placing receipt date on all items to track shelf life
  • Follows Employee Handbook and TurnStyles policies and procedures
  • Assists all TurnStyles Management Staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrate a passion for the mission of Catholic Charities
  • Must be willing to perform by the agency's values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control and joy
  • Catholic Charities promotes a diverse workforce.   • Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required
  • High school education preferred.
  • One years of retail, non-profit, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Must be able to process information and merchandise through computer system.
  • Ability to communicate well with employees, volunteers, donors and customers. Must be able to handle complaints in a tactful manner
  • Must be available to work varied hours/days to assist with store operations
  • Must pass background check and drug screen

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift, move and handle merchandise throughout the store (sometimes over 50 pounds)
  • Stand and/or walk for long periods of time (up to 9 hours at a time).
  • Must have the ability to bend, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
  • Required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Visual functions including near and distance vision and depth perception.
  • Work is primarily performed in a warehouse area where the worker is subject to temperature changes, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, and vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, and/or gases.
