Job description

Position Summary
GDR Defense is seeking a Catholic Mass Music Director to plan, direct, and perform music for Catholic Masses, rehearsals, and special services at Keesler AFB.
Key Responsibilities
  • Select and direct hymns, service music, and choral selections.
  • Provide vocal and instrumental accompaniment during Mass.
  • Lead weekly rehearsals and coordinate participating musicians.
  • Coordinate music selections with the Catholic chaplain.
  • Prepare music selections at least two weeks before each service.
  • Set up and secure instruments and audiovisual equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with music copyright requirements.

Qualifications
  • Two years of Catholic worship-music experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a ministry-related field.
  • Active Catholic church membership and pastoral endorsement.
  • Proficiency as a vocalist and pianist/organist or acoustic guitarist.
  • Ability to read sheet music and direct musicians.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Schedule
One weekly rehearsal and Sunday Mass, currently scheduled for 10:30 a.m., plus authorized special services.
