Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN for a 13-week teaching hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of specialty experience with critical care background and an active MN RN license.

Details
  • Work in the Cath Lab of an acute care hospital
  • Average daily census of 10-20 cases across 4 labs with 12 visits per day
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts starting at 7:30 AM
  • On-call required every 4th weekend and 1-2 weekdays per week based on department needs
  • May float between two campus locations as needed
  • Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR system
Requirements
  • Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required with some critical care experience
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • Conscious sedation and telemetry experience required
  • Scrub and ventilator management experience preferred
  • 1:1 patient ratio experience
  • Skilled in EKG/ECG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Experience with sheath removal, vascular closure systems, and topical hemostasis
  • Knowledge of cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations
  • At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Level 2 Trauma Center and teaching hospital setting
  • Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Assist with procedures such as pacemaker placement, PCI, and left/right heart catheterizations
  • Scrubs provided with no parking fees
  • Local candidates accepted only for radiology positions; all other positions require candidates to live at least 100 miles from the facility
  • Ideally no more than 5 days of requested time off during the assignment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Previous perm staff or per diem employees must have a 3-month gap since their last shift before returning as a traveler
  • Completion of pre-start onboarding modules is required prior to starting the assignment
