Job description

Chobani's Category Development Managers work with category, consumer and shopper insights data to create a clear direction for the category that aligns customer and Chobani strategies. As a key member of the sales team, this role contributes to driving company sales and profits and to gaining advantage over competitors by driving strategic insights and value-added tools/programs to drive increased performance for designated brands at retail.

As part of the Grocery Team, the Category Manger plays a valuable role providing analytical support for customers within the East Division such as ShopRite, Price Chopper, Big Y, and Market Basket (coverage list subject to change).

Responsibilities
  • Develop & cultivate strong relationships with key retailer customers, becoming an indispensable partner for all category management needs
  • Provide category reporting, trend analysis, customized reports & ad hoc projects to both internal & external partners 
  • Utilize critical thinking & problem-solving skills to anticipate/identify opportunities or challenges & turn insights into elevated actionable recommendations
  • Leverage consumer, shopper, category & marketplace trends & insights to provide ongoing strategic and tactical recommendations to drive overall category growth
  • Develop data-based materials for customer specific presentations, providing strong data visualization to communicate business opportunities or challenges for new item selling meetings and/or category reviews
  • Utilize internal flow recommendation, space to sales analysis & consumer decision tree research to provide optimized retailer specific planogram recommendations
  • Identify opportunities & help to implement improvement of tools, templates, and processes to maximize efficiency in performing job requirements
  • Serve as the category expert within business unit, collaborating across internal cross-functional teams, providing input during planning cycles & helping to connect business opportunities with tactical & strategic solutions
  • Provide post promotional analysis to review and improve the ROI and effectiveness of trade promotions
  • Perform other duties as necessary
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years consumer packaged goods category management experience
  • Highly skilled in data analytics & presentation building
  • Strength in leveraging facts & insights to build compelling stories with actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence & build/maintain strong collaborative partnerships with headquarter level customers as well as internal business partners
  • Motivated & results driven with strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation & follow-through
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced & dynamic environment
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects against deadlines
  • Proficient with reporting systems: Nielsen, Circana, retailer shopper card systems, also planogram software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel

The salary range for this full-time position is $85,000.00 - $134,200.00, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. 

Chobani provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision coverage, disability insurance, health savings account, flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement. To help save for the future, all employees are eligible for a 401k match of 100% on up to 5% of eligible pay.
