SOSi is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support mission requirements for a structured approach to further develop, integrate, and sustain a scalable, federated data ecosystem that enhances interoperability, governance, and mission-driven analytics for a DoD customer. The primary objective of the program is to bridge the operational gaps between DoD, IC, interagency, and non-traditional international partners to enable real-time information sharing, dynamic data integration, and mission-tailored analytical capabilities.
Essential Job Duties:
  • The contractor shall oversee metadata management, data lineage tracking, and regulatory compliance for all datasets stored within the Data Lake environment.
  • The contractor shall integrate Unity Catalog and Open Lineage methodologies to enhance discoverability, classification, and security of mission-critical datasets.
  • The contractor shall implement role-based access control (RBAC) measures, ensuring that authorized personnel access data per DoD and NIST 800-53 compliance guidelines.
  • The contractor shall submit the Data Governance & Compliance Report, providing an assessment of data lineage, regulatory adherence, and metadata completeness.

Qualifications
  • Active in scope TS/SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance.
  • Possess the knowledge and capability to establish, enforce, and maintain data governance policies and frameworks across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
  • Proficient in metadata management, data lineage tracking, data cataloging, and regulatory compliance standards such as DoD IL-4/IL-5, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53 Rev.
  • Experience with data classification models, access controls, and policy-based data lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing data governance frameworks, implementing metadata and data cataloging solutions, and ensuring compliance with DoD and IC data security policies.
  • Experience with tools such as Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, or Azure Purview.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Desirable but not required certifications include Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), DAMA Certified Data Governance Professional (DGSP), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate.
