Vibration Analyst – ISO CAT II / CAT III

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and experienced ISO CAT II or CAT III Vibration Analyst to support our Reliability Services team at Cornerstone Mechanical Services, LLC.

This role is responsible for managing condition monitoring programs, performing advanced vibration analysis, supporting predictive maintenance initiatives, and improving rotating equipment reliability across industrial facilities. The ideal candidate is technically strong, safety-focused, customer-oriented, and capable of working independently while mentoring others.

Key Responsibilities

Condition Monitoring & Program Ownership

Manage and administer route-based and online condition monitoring programs.

Develop and optimize vibration programs including:

  • Database setup and ownership
  • Alarm strategy development
  • Route creation and point location determination
  • Baseline development for new equipment

Maintain data integrity and historical documentation within vibration software and CMMS systems.

Install and target vibration sensors and support system commissioning.

Ensure accurate daily documentation, time entry, and task completion within CMMS.

Diagnostics & Reliability

Perform advanced vibration analysis including phase, time waveform, orbit, and spectral analysis.

Diagnose faults such as imbalance, misalignment, looseness, bearing defects, resonance, belt and gear issues.

Analyze vibration, oil analysis, and operating process data (pressure, temperature, flow, load, efficiency) to assess equipment health.

Provide clear written reports with root cause findings and corrective recommendations.

Participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCA).

Identify early failure indicators through routine monitoring and inspection.

Leadership & Team Support

Coach and mentor peers and mechanics in alignment with EOS culture.

Support field service teams with troubleshooting, route building, mechanical repairs, and commissioning.

Maintain 100% safety and environmental compliance.

Uphold fleet and job site housekeeping standards.

Pursue continued education and technical growth.

Minimum Qualifications (CAT II)

ISO Category II Certification

2+ years of vibration analysis experience in an industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of rotating equipment (motors, pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, gearboxes).

Experience with route-based data collection systems.

Proficiency with vibration analysis software and CMMS systems.

Ability to work independently at customer sites.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications (CAT III)

ISO Category III Certification.

5+ years of vibration analysis experience.

Experience developing vibration programs, alarm sets, and database optimization.

Experience mentoring junior analysts.

Experience with oil analysis, ultrasound, infrared, motion magnification, and balancing.

Knowledge of laser alignment systems and precision measurement tools.

Work Environment

Industrial facilities including manufacturing, chemical, power generation, and heavy industry.

Combination of field diagnostics and report writing.

Working from heights, climbing, lifting, and extended standing/walking.
