Job description

Position Summary

Hi-Grade Materials is currently seeking an experienced Vehicle Operator I to join our mining and quarry operations team. This position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner to support daily production, material handling, site maintenance, and overall quarry operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Operate heavy equipment used in mining and quarry operations, including loaders such as the Cat 992 and similar equipment.
  • Load and unload company and commercial trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Remove overburden and waste materials and transport materials to designated disposal or storage areas.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the quarry and work areas.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and perform routine preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Report equipment defects, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards promptly to supervision.
  • Follow all company policies, MSHA regulations, and safety procedures at all times.
  • Comply with daily operational procedures and instructions provided by supervisors.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned to support quarry operations.
Qualifications
  • Valid California Driver’s License required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating heavy construction or mining equipment
  • Quarry or mining experience preferred.
  • Previous MSHA training preferred.
  • Ability to work safely in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety and operational procedures.
