What is a casting consultant?

Casting consultants are professionals in the entertainment industry who help filmmakers, producers, or theater directors find the best talent for a project. They use their expertise and industry contacts to identify, recommend, and sometimes audition actors for specific roles. Their guidance ensures that the cast fits the creative vision and practical needs of the production. Casting consultants may work independently or as part of a casting agency, and their input can be valuable in both pre-production and during the casting process.

A Casting Consultant works closely with directors and producers to understand the creative vision and specific requirements for each role. They facilitate discussions about casting choices, offer insights on available talent, and often coordinate auditions to showcase suitable candidates.
