Job description
Description The Cass 3 Advanced School Resource Officer is a swotn law enforcement officer, with arrest powers, who works within Beaufort County School District's elementary schools. In this position, the Cass 3 Advanced School Resource Officer will receive specialized training on how to work with youth. This position's work schedule will follow the same schedule as the administrative/teaching staff of the Beaufort County School District.
Typical Qualifications General Qualifications South Carolina Code 23-23-60 (B) sets the minimum standards for law enforcement certification in South Carolina. Applicants must meet the following qualifications for employment: US Citizen 21years of age minimum High School Diploma or GED Valid S.C. driver's license (upon hiring) Registered S.C
voter (upon hiring) Resident of Beaufort County (upon hiring) Fluent in the oral and written communication of the English language Clean criminal record: No felony, serious misdemeanor or convictions of any crime of moral turpitude Good credit history Good driving record: no DUI or DUS convictions In the past five years Candidates who have been in the military must have received an Honorable Discharge Must successfully complete the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office physical agility course Must be able to complete training program to receive Advanced Class 3 certification, as well as training through the National Association of School Resource Officers Supplemental Information All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
