Anesthesiologist - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
  • The Anesthesiologist assists in directing and coordinating activities within the Anesthesia Department.
  • Provide medical management for patients undergoing unconsciousness or insensibility to pain and emotional stress during medical procedures.
  • Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments.
  • Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
  • Discuss anesthetic options and associated risks with patients.
  • Administer induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
  • The Anesthesiologist monitors patients' physiological condition throughout procedures.
  • Perform necessary clinical interventions as required.
  • Deliver clinical anesthesiology services and patient care pre- and post-operation.
  • Monitor patients during surgery and in various care units such as ICU, short stay unit, acute pain management, and emergency airway management.
  • Review medical files and laboratory results.
  • The Anesthesiologist informs patients about the risks associated with anesthesia.
Anesthesiologist - REQUIREMENTS
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience.
  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
  • Completion of approved Residency in Anesthesia as per ECFMC and FLEX requirements.
  • Current licensure as a Physician and possession of a current license to practice medicine in the state of Illinois.
