Rusty Lantern Markets, doing business as Cummings Market in Kennebunk, Maine is looking for a full time cashier who could cross train and support our kitchen team.

Summary

As a team member, you will be the friendly face that greets our customers and ensures their shopping experience is seamless. This role is essential in maintaining our commitment to exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions and supporting our store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register and POS system.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and assisting with their needs.
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring accurate cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Assist with stocking shelves and inventory management as needed to ensure product availability.
  • Respond to customer inquiries over the phone with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Support promotional activities by informing customers about current deals and offers.

Kitchen experience is a plus, which includes:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to established recipes and standards.

  • Assist in menu planning and development of new meal offerings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.

Schedule & Hours: We are looking for the right candidate to help support our front and back of the house, hours will be 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, the days of the week will be specified during the interview process, but being able to work weekends is a must.

Requirements:

  • Must be over at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Physically must be able to squat, bend, and turn as needed.
  • Lift 25 pounds
  • Stand for long periods of time.
