Description

Job Summary: Fuel Attendants/Cashiers are responsible for pumping fuel and propane, cashiering, collecting cash payments and making change, charging purchases to customers' credit cards and providing customers with receipts. Fuel Attendants/Cashiers clean, collect, and dispose of trash, clean offices, restrooms, or equipment; Fuel Attendants/Cashiers are responsible for cash register operations, stocking store items, basic food preparation, accurately maintaining paperwork and cash drawers and loss prevention in adherence to all Company Policy/Store standards. Fuel Attendants/Cashiers must provide customer assistance in a friendly and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer and maintaining outstanding standards.
  • Activate fuel pumps and fill fuel tanks of vehicles with gasoline or diesel fuel to specified levels.
  • Collect cash payments from customers and make change or charge purchases to customers' credit cards and provide customers with receipts.
  • Clean parking areas, offices, restrooms, or equipment and remove trash.
  • Prepare daily reports of fuel, oil, and accessory sales.
  • Provide customers with information about local roads or highways.
  • Clean windshields.
  • Accurately and efficiently completing all sales transactions and maintaining proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers
  • Assisting in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and store housekeeping
  • Assisting in processing and replenishing merchandise; participating in receiving and monitoring floor stock
  • Adhering to all Company policies, procedures, and practices including loss prevention
  • Communicating customer requests to management
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

The employee regularly works near moving vehicles and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate to high.

The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to constantly stand and walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently accesses all areas of the station and store including the card lock, fueling stations, selling floor, stock area, and register area; the ability to climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Scheduling

Regularly scheduled for 25-27 hours per week, Saturday through Friday.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older preferred; Exceptions may be made but only in accordance with State and Federal laws.
  • High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to learn Point of sale POS software and Time accounting software
