Description:

The Cash Posting Clerk is responsible for assisting the Reimbursement Supervisor in all areas of Collections, Billing and Cash application.


Please note this is not a remote position.


Roles and Responsibilities:

ยท Accurate and timely posting of all cash payments for all businesses.

ยท Review of payments received via live check and research ability to convert to EFT.

ยท Prepare daily cash log for payments received by mail and EFT.

ยท Assist with the securing missing EOBs (either by downloading them from payer website or calling for a copy).

ยท Assist with status of PBM payers.

ยท Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.

ยท Examine patient bills for accuracy and request any missing information.

ยท Maintain billing software by updating rate change, cash spreadsheets, and current collection reports.

ยท Research payment issues and communicate with other departments for a resolution.

ยท Identify possible low payments based on trends and history.

ยท Assist with registering for payment portals or identify possible ERA/EFT options.

ยท Audit work and ensure accuracy of information provided to customers.

ยท Responsible for patient phone calls related to billing.

ยท Communicate as needed with insurance plans on billing issues.

ยท Communicate cash posting issues or activities with the Reimbursement Supervisor and team.

ยท Assist with Special Projects as assigned.

ยท Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

ยท At least two years' experience as a cash poster, in Healthcare or Pharmacy required.

ยท Knowledge of the terms and understanding associated with day-to-day functions of a cash poster.

ยท Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and be detail oriented.

ยท Must be able to work independently and be willing to assist in other areas of the department as needed.

ยท Must have knowledge of insurance and specialized functions of billing and reimbursement.

ยท Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in a second language is a plus.

ยท Must be friendly, professional, and cooperative with a good aptitude for customer service and problem solving.

ยท Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistent accurate records.

ยท Open to possible overtime due to department demands.

ยท CPR+ experience preferred, but not required.

Education and Experience Requirements

ยท High School Diploma or Graduation Equivalent Diploma (G.E.D)

ยท Prior experience in a pharmacy or home health company.

Physical Requirements
