What is a cash job?

Cash jobs refer to types of employment where workers are paid directly in cash rather than through checks or direct deposit. These jobs are often informal and may not offer benefits like health insurance or retirement plans. Common cash jobs include babysitting, yard work, housekeeping, and day labor. While some cash jobs are legitimate, others may not comply with tax and labor laws, so it is important to understand the legal implications before accepting or offering such work.
