Job description

SUMMARY:
Responsible for protecting the safety of members and participants in and around the water slides within the Gold Rush Waterpark and the Back Forty Swimmin' Hole facilities. Prevents potential accidents by ensuring adherence to policies and program standards of the Double JJ Resort.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enforces slide rules according to Double JJ policies and safety procedures.
  • Provides supervision for slide area, including the top of slide and the designated slide catch pool.
  • Monitor all slide participants to ensure safety.
  • Communicate with slide attendant at the bottom of the slide to ensure safety of slide participants.
  • Remain in position at slide during operation.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, pre- and post-shift checks.
  • Always presents a professional appearance and attitude and maintains a high standard of customer service.
  • Communicate any and all safety issues to the proper supervisor.
  • Cleaning duties while on shift, including picking up trash, sweeping, scrubbing, and cleaning surfaces, picking up tubes, and other miscellaneous cleaning tasks.
  • Customer service duties include checking in of guests, waiver verification, selling retail items, and operating the cash register.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Directly reports to the Aquatics Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Must be able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, to members and staff with ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Basic math skills including proper handling of cash.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • MUST have open availability and flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and school breaks.
