About the Role

As a Premium Accounting Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting accounts receivable premium balances for our wholly owned subsidiary, Aspera Insurance Services, Inc. You’ll collaborate closely with our finance and underwriting teams, working onsite in our new Richmond, VA office to help ensure accurate, timely processing of premium transactions.

What You’ll Do
  • Following up on past-due Aspera balances with agency accounting contacts
  • Reviewing system-generated Aspera statements after they’re sent to agents
  • Releasing Notices of Cancellation (NOCs) and reviewing related payments for rescission as appropriate
  • Invoicing and following up on Aspera audit and other premium balances returned for direct collection
  • Applying Aspera and Kinsale cash receipts, and serving as backup for cash application
  • Communicating Aspera audit installment requests and preparing return premium check requests for approval
  • Reconciling differences between Aspera deposited transactions and premium/deductible allocations to support accurate ledger entries
  • Maintaining scanned and electronic filing of cash receipts and verifying claims expense and loss payment checks
What You Bring
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two to five years of accounts receivable experience required
  • Two to five years of related insurance experience preferred
  • High degree of accuracy and efficiency in data entry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a plus
