Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Fellowship Coordinator - Department of Neurology at its Detroit campus location.

Position Purpose:The Fellowship Coordinator isresponsible for coordinating all operational aspects and overseeing theday-to-day operations of the assigned fellowship program in the Wayne StateUniversity Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office. Ensures compliance with AccreditationCouncil for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program guidelines and ensuresprogram objectives are met, while identifying gaps and making recommendationsfor program improvement.
Essential Functions:The Fellowship Coordinator isresponsible for coordinating all operational aspects and overseeing theday-to-day operations of the assigned fellowship program in the Wayne StateUniversity Graduate Medical Education (GME) Office. Ensures compliance with AccreditationCouncil for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) program guidelines and ensuresprogram objectives are met, while identifying gaps and making recommendationsfor program improvement.
Coordinate all aspects offellowship program processes and practices, including participation in thefellowship recruitment and selection process.
Oversee day-to-day programreporting. Maintain and update case logs; coordinate fellowship evaluations,duty hours, conference attendance, etc. Evaluate successful completion ofmedical fellows requirements. Serve as a member of Clinical Competency Committee,participating in remediation process when there is non-compliance, determiningfellow's ability to continue medical training. Evaluate medical fellows'self-reporting compliance requirements. Follow up with medical fellows, holdingthem accountable to meet requirements and participate in the remediationprocess when necessary. Counsel and advise medical fellows in paperwork andmedical fellowship training matters.
Serve as a liaison betweenthe GME Office Leadership and Program Directors, Fellows and DepartmentalProgram Coordinators. Interpret program certification guidelines,identify gaps in program operations and makes recommendations for improvement.Create and submit reports that maintain program certification with GME andACGME offices.
Create communication plansdetailing how and when information will be shared with clients, stakeholdersand team members. Manage the marketing function of the fellowship program,including the development and updates to web-site content, monthly newslettersand other recruitment program materials. Prepare presentations and slides fortraining or marketing purposes.
Lead department specialprojects, apply project management methodology to ensure effective projectprogression and completion, and to identify continual upgrades andenhancements.
Schedule training, work withvendors and presenters, oversee implementation, create course evaluations,collate results, etc. Assess overall training, and identify new ways to enhancefellowship experience and success. Provides input and recommendations to Chairand Director.

Unique duties:
Oversee recruitment and selection scheduling, faculty coordination, and applicant communication, while ensuring appropriate documentation and contract completions. Managing onboarding processes and ensuring fellows complete orientation and obtain required institutional and clinical access.Maintain fellowship schedules, rotations, and didactics. Support the program director in maintaining updated policies, curricula, goals, and objectives, and preparing documentation for annual reviews, site visits, and accreditation activities. Oversee Fellowship committee scheduling, agenda, and maintain meeting notes. Maintain accurate program records, tracking scholarly activity, evaluation completion, and other fellowship requirements.Coordinate graduation and offboarding processes, maintain trainee records, ensure completion of required evaluation, training verification, and board-related documentation.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field from an accredited college/university. Anequivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.
Experience: Experienced (minimum 2 years ofjob-related experience)
Two years' experience in anacademic healthcare environment required. Experience in the operationalactivities of GME office environments including computing technology,recruitment and Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and LiaisonCommittee on Medical Education (LCME) regulations. Experience in leadingprojects preferred.
Knowledge, Skills andAbilities:
Considerable knowledge ofUniversity Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Accreditation Council forGraduate Medical Education (ACGME) policies and procedures desired.
Ability to be self-motivated,working independently. Demonstrated decision-making skills, in adherence withuniversity and departmental procedure. Ability to prioritize and plan workactivities, adapting to changing conditions. Can perform work with closeattention to detail. Strong organizational skills and ability work withestablished deadlines and under pressure. Flexible and willing to adjustschedule for departmental needs.
Must be an effectivecommunicator, both written and verbal, capable of communicating to bothsubordinates, peers and management as required. Good interpersonal skillsrequired and strong customer service skills. Must be able to handle pressuresituations, including dealing with sensitive and confidential human relationssituations.
Ability to compare, contrastand quality check work with a keen attention to detail. Strong analyticalskills required including critical thinking, problem-solving skills. Must beable to work independently. Analyze and interpret data in hard copy or electronicform; detect errors and discrepancies. Must be able to demonstrate a good useof judgment.
Proficient in MicrosoftOffice and Website software. Demonstrated ability to generate complexspreadsheets and manage databases. Working knowledge of database systems.
