Job description

Description:

Guardian Light Family Services (GLFS) is dedicated to strengthening families and helping children thrive by providing compassionate, hands-on support every day. Our mission is to empower families to create safe, nurturing environments where everyone can reach their full potential. We believe our employees are our greatest asset, and we are committed to fostering a workplace where every team member feels supported, respected, and inspired to grow. Here, you’ll find a collaborative environment, opportunities for professional development, and a shared passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of families across Nebraska.

Your Future Team

Our team is passionate about making a difference, one family at a time. We use our clinical knowledge, resources, and therapeutic skills to influence positive change and build healthier communities across Nebraska.

Success Story: "When I was first assigned an intensive in-home case, the family was in a state of crisis and navigating deep systemic challenges. Through targeted therapeutic interventions, intake assessments, and close collaboration with our GLFS Skillbuilders, I helped the parents and children process trauma and develop healthier communication habits. Seeing them transition from survival mode to a stable, nurturing lifestyle is incredibly rewarding. Knowing my therapeutic support kept a family safely together makes every mile driven worth it."

From your first week, you’ll be paired with a direct supervisor who will help you navigate your new role, answer questions, and support your ongoing clinical development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide brief, intensive in-home therapeutic services to families identified and referred by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NE DHHS).
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and design tailored treatment plans.
  • Execute clinical interventions and facilitate ongoing discharge and aftercare planning.
  • Collaborate closely with NE DHHS caseworkers and GLFS Skillbuilders to assist families in developing and implementing healthier habits, relationships, and lifestyles.
  • Maintain timely, streamlined communication and precise clinical documentation.
  • Manage a flexible schedule and maintain autonomy while meeting assigned case hours and client needs.
  • Participate in agency meetings, consultations, and professional development opportunities to further your therapeutic expertise.
Work Schedule

Schedules are flexible and self-managed based on client availability and caseload needs. Therapists maintain autonomy over their calendar while ensuring consistent support for assigned families.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting Pay: $40–$60 / hour (based on experience and licensure)
  • Drive Time Pay: $30.00 / hour
  • Mileage Reimbursement: Paid for client-related travel and community transitions
  • Bonus Opportunity: Earn up to $5,000.00 within your first 9 months! ($3,000.00 awarded at 6 months, and an additional $2,000.00 awarded for tenure based on carrying a minimum caseload of 3 cases for 9 months).
Full-Time Benefits
  • Insurance Options: Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays
All Staff Benefits
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • MASA (Medical Transport Ambulance Insurance)
  • Supplemental insurance options
  • Generous referral bonuses
  • Mentorship program for ongoing clinical guidance and support
Requirements:
  • Licensure: Minimum of an LMHP, PLMHP, or a Master’s level intern within one semester of graduation required.
  • Vehicle: Must provide a reliable personal vehicle to travel as part of daily work (GLFS reimburses drive time and mileage).
  • Technology: Must provide your own cell phone and internet service with daily access to GLFS work email and GLFS Computer Systems. A personal computer, iPad, or tablet is optional but highly encouraged.
  • Communication: Highly developed skills in timeliness and streamlined communication are necessary for success.
  • Core Traits: Self-motivated, empathetic, and possessing a deep understanding that families require structured guidance and clinical support to heal and thrive.
