About the role, Your Impact
Baxter & Woodman's Spatial Technology Group has a rewarding opportunity for a GIS Technician II in our Orlando or West Palm Beach, Florida office. What your day-to-day will look like
  • Report to the GIS Department Manager for work responsibilities, scheduling, and tasks.
  • Perform office-based mapping tasks, map creation, data manipulation, analysis and technical problem solving.
  • Create and manage ArcGIS Online Organization accounts and related content.
  • Perform troubleshooting tasks.
  • Manage geodata standards, clean up, and maintenance.
  • Provide onsite work for municipal clients and field-based projects as needed serving as the primary GIS resource for municipal clients, ensuring their GIS systems are reliable, accurate, and aligned with operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain custom maps, dashboards, and web/mobile applications to support public works, utilities, and community services.
  • Support proposal preparation, client presentations and training, and demonstrations of GIS capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions involving ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and custom applications (AppStudio, Python, Arcade, etc.).
  • Attend local GIS / Municipal Engineering-based conferences to stay in touch with the latest industry trends, build relationships with peers, and present ideas and projects.
  • Provide field-based services including but not limited to GPS data collection of new assets/as- builts, condition assessments of utilities, pavement, signage, ADA, as-builts etc.

Education/Certification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Remote Sensing or related field required

Must-haves, what you will bring
  • 3+ years related professional experience in the field of municipal government, utilities, or public works is a must.
  • Professional experience with current ArcGIS Pro releases and ArcGIS Online.
  • Working knowledge of map design and end-user focused layout.
  • Working knowledge of Public Works and municipal engineering services.
  • +-75% workload will be office-based GIS and Spatial Technology related tasks.
  • +-25% workload may be field-based, performing GPS services, data collection, inspections, condition assessments in a wide-variety of project types and environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate efficient problem-solving techniques.
  • Possess an eagerness to learn new skills as well as hone existing strengths, take initiative and be a proactive team member, as well as at times be a sufficient self-starter on tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman's east-coast Florida region (own transportation).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with asset management systems (Cityworks, Cartegraph, Lucity, etc.) preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise administration or implementation is a plus.
  • Experience with GIS-related scripting/coding (Python, Arcade, etc.) is a plus.

Compensation - The pay range for this role is $65,000-$85,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
