Job description

Overview

Titan Florida, LLC. has an opening for a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Corkscrew Mine in Estero, FL.  This wage non-exempt position will include the operation of excavators, dozers, front-end-loaders, and trucks.  The position will report to the Operations Manager (or their designee).

Responsibilities
  • Perform an adequate pre-shift inspection of equipment and report any safety hazards and concerns promptly.  Maintain equipment to OEM specifications and in good working order.
  • Fill out all required documentation and submit to supervision in timely fashion.
  • Operate bulldozers such as Komatsu D65 and John Deere 850 class.  Must be able to carry grade.
  • Operate excavators such as Komatsu PC490 and John Deere 670 class.
  • Operate front end loaders such as Komatsu WA500 and John Deere 844K/904P class.
  • Operate haul trucks such as Komatsu HM405 or Volvo A45G class.
  • Perform utility tasks such as shoveling, water hosing, and others as required.
  • Perform grade work and clearing as directed.
  • Maintain dragline pad, drill pad, and haul roads.  Drain wet areas.  Build lime rock roads.
  • Load customer trucks as directed.  Yard open from 6am-4pm.
  • Assist with required preventive maintenance on the equipment.  Grease and fuel own equipment.
  • Follow all safety checks, company policies, and MSHA regulations.
  • Must be willing to work in multiple pieces of equipment in a day based on the needs of that day.
Qualifications
  • Safety-minded.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and industry practices.
  • Experience with bulldozers, excavators, and loaders a must.
  • Experienced Miner in MSHA Part 46 - preferred.
  • Previous mining experience a plus.
  • Maintain a current Florida Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to understand and follow the oral and written instructions to complete tasks.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Able to walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Shift:

Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
