Reports To: Lead Carpenter / Project Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Junior Carpenter is an entry-level tradesperson responsible for assisting with commercial construction, renovations, facility repairs, and general carpentry projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is eager to learn the trade, and takes pride in producing quality workmanship while working safely and efficiently.
The Junior Carpenter will work alongside experienced carpenters and maintenance professionals on a variety of commercial projects including office buildings, healthcare facilities, retail locations, schools, and industrial properties.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with commercial carpentry projects from start to finish.
  • Install wood and metal framing.
  • Hang and finish drywall.
  • Install doors, frames, and hardware.
  • Install baseboard, trim, molding, and finish carpentry.
  • Install cabinets, shelving, countertops, and millwork.
  • Repair walls, ceilings, flooring, and other building components.
  • Assist with demolition and preparation of work areas.
  • Read tape measures and perform basic material layouts.
  • Safely operate power tools and hand tools.
  • Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites.
  • Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Complete work orders accurately and communicate project status with supervisors.
  • Perform other facility maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1–3 years of carpentry or construction experience preferred.
  • Trade school or vocational education is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of carpentry methods and construction practices.
  • Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to company office or job sites.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if required).
