SPECIALIST II - LEAN MANUFACTURING (Athens, North)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SPECIALIST II - LEAN MANUFACTURING

  • Implement improvements to the production process flow.
  • Recommend hands-on process improvements using a combination of Lean Manufacturing tools with a focus towards optimizing labor resources and systems, flow creation, 5S and waste reduction.
  • Improve existing operations for increased safety, quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
  • Support value stream mapping and kaizen events.
  • Lead Problem Solving to root cause and recommend or implement corrective actions.
  • Provides manufacturing or other data to assist in the creation of control charts, identify process capabilities, areas to focus or to create KPI's or targets to measure progress.
  • Assist in identifying ways to reduce production inefficiencies through recommendations - new processes, elimination of waste, machinery enhancements, process improvements.
  • Aid with development and documentation of KPI's and systems designed to sustain and drive continuous improvement using Carpenters Operating Model.
  • Ability to travel 25% to other locations within a specified region.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE SPECIALIST II - LEAN MANUFACTURING

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field preferred, plus 3+ years of successful lean implementation experience with proven record of sustainable results OR High School Diploma required, plus 5+ years of relevant lean implementation experience required.
  • Successful candidates will have prior knowledge and practical experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing operations.
  • Extensive experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Extensive job-related experience with LEAN manufacturing tools and methods.
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste using applicable tools and analysis.
  • Proven coaching, facilitation and organizational skills with a track record of successful change management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proactive, creative, and a hands-on change agent.
  • Should have team building and rapid execution abilities.
  • Self-motivated and ability to "think on your feet" when working and a "can do" approach to work.
  • Self-Starter who can creatively drive continuous improvement on their own initiative with guidance as necessary.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, computer and basic business skills. Able to bring clarity and optimal solutions from abstract information.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding and ever-changing environment with frequently changing priorities.
