Job description

Work Setting: Construction โ€“ various locations โ€“ renovation - residential


Location: Jobsites in Oakville, Mississauga and Burlington, ON


Compensation: $36.00/hour


Benefits: Health insurance


Anticipated start date: As soon as possible


Duration: 3 years


Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week


Languages: English essential


Main Duties of the Job:

o  Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for custom residential projects under the guidance of senior carpenters or site supervisors.

o  Support layout and measurement activities in accordance with project plans.

o  Measure, cut, and prepare wood and other materials for framing, installation, and finishing tasks.

o  Assist in constructing and installing structural components, including floor systems, wall framing, and roof elements, ensuring accuracy and quality.

o  Participate in the installation of doors, trim, moulding, stair components, and other finish carpentry elements, with attention to detail expected in luxury home builds.

o  Perform basic carpentry tasks such as fastening, sanding, and assembling materials as directed by senior team members.

o  Load, unload, and transport materials, and ensure proper handling and storage of tools and high-quality building materials.

o  Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite in compliance with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board guidelines and company safety practices.

o  Use hand and power tools safely and effectively, following instructions and safety procedures.

o  Assist senior carpenters and other trades as needed to support efficient workflow and project timelines.

o  Participate in on-the-job training and skill development to advance carpentry techniques and knowledge of custom home construction.


Required Experience:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of secondary school. 
  • Drivers License.
  • Own Vehicle โ€“ truck preferred.
  • Good working attitude.


Work conditions: Work environment that is noisy, dusty, at heights. Bending, crouching and kneeling required. Must be capable of handling heavy loads.
