Job description

Seeking a Residential Construction Technician to join the field team. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced residential carpenter or construction professional who enjoys varied work, takes pride in solving problems, and wants the stability of a consistent full-time schedule with a company focused on building its long-term in-house team.

You'll work primarily on single-family and manufactured homes throughout Southern and Central New Hampshire, handling everything from finish work and decks to repairs, home setup, and light site work. The ideal candidate can walk onto a residential project, understand what needs to be done, and get to work without extensive training.

What You'll Do as the Residential Construction Technician:

  • Perform hands-on construction, carpentry, and finish work on single-family and manufactured homes
  • Assist with the setup and completion of manufactured homes after delivery
  • Identify and repair damage or construction issues resulting from transportation or installation
  • Build decks, stairs, exterior features, and other residential components
  • Complete punch-list, finish carpentry, repair, and warranty-related work
  • Read the jobsite, identify what needs attention, and independently work through common construction issues
  • Help prepare homes for completion and turnover
  • Assist with basic site work and home pads when needed
  • Operate construction equipment when qualified and experienced to do so
  • Work across different residential projects throughout the company's New Hampshire service area
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
  • Communicate clearly with the internal team about project needs, progress, and issues

Must-Haves as the Residential Construction Technician:

  • At least a few years of hands-on residential construction or carpentry experience
  • Experience working on single-family homes or comparable residential construction
  • Well-rounded carpentry skills with the ability to handle finish work, repairs, decks, punch-list items, and general construction tasks
  • Ability to work independently without requiring extensive hands-on training
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Reliable, dependable approach to work and scheduling
  • Ability and willingness to work at project sites throughout the region
  • Comfortable working in a small-team environment where flexibility and initiative matter

Nice-to-Haves as the Residential Construction Technician:

  • Manufactured or modular home construction experience
  • Experience setting, finishing, repairing, or completing manufactured homes
  • Equipment operating experience
  • Basic excavation or site work experience
  • Experience preparing pads or supporting residential site development
  • Broad carpentry background spanning framing, finish work, exterior construction, and repairs
  • Construction safety certifications or additional trade training

Offers:

  • $28-$35 per hour, depending on experience, with some flexibility for an exceptional candidate
  • Stable, full-time work with a generally consistent weekday schedule
  • 100% employer-paid employee healthcare premiums
  • 401(k) with a 4% employer match
  • Flexible and negotiable paid time off
  • Continued education support for certifications, online courses, and in-person training
  • Several thousand dollars per year may be available for relevant professional development
  • Opportunity to join a small, growing team that is bringing more construction capabilities in-house
  • Variety of work across single-family and manufactured residential construction
  • Long-term stability with a company that has employees who have remained with the organization for 10+ years
