Job description

Are you ready to join a team that answers customer calls for you, fills your schedule, and provides a company van? Mr. Handyman of Louisville Northeast is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled, service-driven technician who takes pride in doing the job right—every time.

About Us

Mr. Handyman of Louisville Northeast is a locally owned (majority woman-owned) home improvement and repair company backed by a national brand. Our work is supported by the Done Right Promise—if it’s not done right, we’ll make it right. We’re committed to a customer-first culture built on professionalism, respect, and teamwork.

We are an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

Role Summary

As a Handyman Technician, you’ll complete small-to-medium residential and commercial repair, maintenance, and light remodeling projects—typically lasting from about two hours to two days. You’ll work independently in the field with strong office support behind you. The pay range for this position is $900 - $1,200 per week and is dependent on your experience as a professional handyman as well as your experience with other home repair and maintenance projects such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and drywall.

Why You’ll Want to Join Our Team

• Company-supplied van (take-home) and gas card

• Office team that answers calls, books jobs, and supports you so you can focus on the work

• iPad/tablet and technology support (ServiceTitan)

• Competitive bi-weekly earnings based on experience and performance

• Bonus opportunities (based on results and reliability)

• 1/2 personal health insurance reimbursed

• Paid time off and paid holidays

What You’ll Do

• Perform a wide range of repairs and improvements in homes and commercial properties, including:

– Carpentry, trim, doors, and hardware

– Drywall repair/patch/finish and painting

– Tile, flooring, and light remodeling

– Minor plumbing and minor electrical work (where allowed by law)

• Diagnose issues and recommend practical solutions that match the customer’s needs

• Communicate clearly with customers about scope of work, estimates, materials, and timelines

• Document jobs (before/after photos, detailed job notes) and close out invoices using the company iPad/tablet

• Manage materials responsibly and help control job costs through good planning and organization

• Maintain a clean, safe jobsite and represent Mr. Handyman with professionalism

• Keep the company vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition

What Success Looks Like

• Strong customer satisfaction and positive customer feedback

• Accurate estimates, clear documentation, and proper invoicing

• Efficient job completion while maintaining quality standards

• Low callbacks—work completed correctly the first time, consistent with the Done Right Promise

What You Bring

• 8+ years of paid experience as a handyman, remodeler, carpenter, or multi-trade service technician

• Strong proficiency in at least 3 core trades (carpentry, drywall, painting, tile/flooring, etc.)

• Your own professional-grade hand and power tools

• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record

• Ability to pass a background check, driving record check, and drug screening

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work safely on ladders/heights and overhead as needed

• Comfortable using mobile/tablet technology for scheduling, documentation, and invoicing

• Professional appearance, strong communication skills, and the ability to self-manage

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (or until the last job is complete)

• Occasional after-hours and weekend emergency calls available (additional pay)
