Job description

Are you looking for full-time year-round employment and want to enjoy 12 paid holidays each year? If so, the Utah Department of Corrections is looking for a Journey Maintenance/Carpenter, to perform the following responsibilities:

  • Make repairs to or complete jobs in the following trades.
    • Woodworking/Cabinetry
    • Drywall repair
    • Painting
    • Flooring - Commercial carpet squares and tiles
    • Roof repair
    • Windows
    • Overhead doors
    • Operates, maintains, calibrates, and adjusts specialized equipment.
    • Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, makes adjustments, repairs, and/or performs preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, machinery, etc.
    • Maintains accurate records and logs.
  • Carpentry duties could also include helping with grounds work including mowing and snow removal.
  • May be subject to 24/7 emergency call out

This position is NOT public safety certified and does not require peace officer status or certification.
