A Carpenter Project Manager oversees construction projects that involve carpentry work, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Full-time

Job description

$28–$35/hr | Year-Round Work | 40-Hour Weeks | Monday–Friday | No Overnight/Travel

DeLoa & Sons Construction is hiring an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. We are a local, family-owned general contractor serving the Omaha metro area, specializing in residential and commercial remodeling, additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and a variety of other construction projects.
We're looking for someone with 3+ years of carpentry or remodeling experience who takes pride in quality work, is dependable, and is comfortable taking the lead on day-to-day jobsite work.
This is a hands-on lead position working under our Project Manager. Our field crews typically consist of a Lead Carpenter and General Laborer. You'll provide direction to your crew member(s) while working right alongside them.
Why Work With DeLoa & Sons?

We offer steady, year-round construction work with a schedule that allows you to have a life outside of work.
  • $28–$35/hour, based on experience and skill level
  • Year-round, full-time work
  • Typically 40 hours per week
  • Primarily Monday–Friday
  • Weekend work is rare and planned in advance
  • Overtime is occasionally available but is not the norm
  • Time-and-a-half for qualifying overtime, with double-time opportunities on certain jobs
  • No out-of-town travel or overnight stays
  • Local projects throughout the Omaha metro area
  • Company vehicle provided for use during the workday
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) – accrue 1 hour for every 30 hours worked and use it for vacation, sick time, appointments, or personal time
  • 6 paid holidays
  • Health stipend may be available after 90 days of employment
  • Access to voluntary employee-paid benefits, including dental, vision, short-term disability, accident, hospitalization, cancer, and critical illness coverage
  • Company-provided work shirts
  • Performance bonus opportunities
  • Opportunities for advancement
  • Company events and parties
What You'll Do

As a Lead Carpenter, you'll work under the direction of our Project Manager and take the lead on day-to-day work at the jobsite.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Leading and working alongside a General Laborer
  • Completing daily work based on direction from the Project Manager
  • Framing and general carpentry
  • Trim and finish carpentry
  • LVT/LVP Install
  • Window and door installation
  • Siding
  • Deck construction
  • Tile and other remodeling work
  • Reviewing plans and project scope
  • Planning and organizing daily jobsite tasks
  • Coordinating tools and materials needed for the job
  • Maintaining quality workmanship and attention to detail
  • Keeping jobsites clean, organized, and professional
  • Communicating job progress, questions, material needs, and issues with the Project Manager
  • Helping keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule
  • Light plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
Our remodeling projects vary, so no two jobs are exactly the same. This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys working in multiple areas of construction rather than doing the same task every day.
What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional carpentry or remodeling experience
  • Well-rounded residential and/or commercial construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Experience with framing, trim, windows and doors, siding, decks, and general remodeling work
  • Ability to read plans and understand project scope
  • Ability to provide direction to another crew member
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently while taking direction from a Project Manager
  • Dependable, professional, and able to communicate well with the team
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to meet company requirements for operating a company vehicle
Company vehicles are used during the workday and are picked up from and returned to our Papillion shop each day. Employees do not take company vehicles home.

Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening, including a background check.
Pay

$28–$35/hour, based on experience and skill level.
