Carpenter Fly information

What are Carpenter Flies?

Carpenter flies are not a job title, but rather a common misnomer for certain types of large wood-boring insects, such as carpenter bees or horntail wasps, that can be found around wood structures. If you meant 'carpenter,' a carpenter is a skilled tradesperson who constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. Carpenters work on building frameworks such as walls, floors, and doorframes, as well as cabinetry and furniture. They use a variety of hand and power tools and need to be able to read blueprints and follow building codes.
