What is cargo van expediting?

Cargo van expediting is a type of transportation service where independent drivers or small fleet owners use cargo vans to deliver time-sensitive freight, often on short notice. These drivers typically work with expediting companies or brokers to transport goods quickly and efficiently, usually over long distances. The job often involves flexible hours, self-management, and the ability to handle urgent or last-minute shipments. Cargo van expeditors are essential in industries that require fast delivery, such as manufacturing and healthcare.

Do I need a CDL for a Sprinter van?

Cargo van expediting jobs typically do not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) when operating Sprinter vans, as these vehicles usually fall below the weight threshold that mandates a CDL. However, some companies or specific routes may have different requirements, so it's important to check the job listing or employer policies. Basic driving skills and a valid standard driver's license are generally sufficient for this role.

Can you make money hauling with a cargo van?

Cargo van expediting involves transporting small to medium-sized freight, and it can be a profitable way to earn income depending on factors like load volume, routes, and scheduling.
