Superior Rigging and Erecting is seeking an experienced CDL-A Heavy Haul Driver to support crane, rigging, and steel erection operations throughout Georgia and the Southeast.

 This position is responsible for transporting cranes, crawler crane components, counterweights, rigging equipment, crane mats, structural steel, and oversized construction equipment to and from active jobsites. We are looking for professionals who take pride in safe operations, equipment care, and deliver reliable support to field operations.

 If you have experience operating lowboys, detachable gooseneck trailers (RGN), multi-axle trailers, and hauling oversized loads, we want to talk with you.

Key Responsibilities

Heavy Haul Transportation

• Safely transport oversized and heavy construction equipment throughout Georgia      and the Southeast.
• Operate tractor-trailers, lowboys, detachable gooseneck trailers (RGN), and      specialized hauling equipment.
• Support project mobilizations and demobilizations for crane, rigging, and steel      erection operations.
• Coordinate routes, permits, escorts, and transportation requirements as needed.
• Ensure all loads are properly secured and compliant with applicable      transportation regulations.

Load Securement & Equipment Handling

• Assist with loading, unloading, blocking, cribbing, chaining, and securement      activities.
• Inspect chains, binders, straps, and securement equipment before use.
• Verify load stability and compliance with DOT cargo securement requirements.
• Support crane assembly and disassembly activities when required.

Equipment Care & Accountability

• Maintain assigned trucks and trailers in clean, safe, and professional condition.
• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report maintenance concerns and equipment issues promptly.
• Demonstrate ownership of company vehicles and transportation assets.

Safety & Compliance

• Operate in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate driver logs, permits, inspections, and transportation documentation.
• Participate in safety meetings, pre-task planning, and operational coordination.
• Promote a safety-first culture where safe execution always comes before production.

Team Support

• Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations, crane operators, and field crews.
• Adapt to changing project schedules and operational priorities.
• Operate safely within active construction sites, industrial facilities, and public roadway environments.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
• Strong understanding of safe load securement practices
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
• Ability to travel and work overtime as operational needs require

Preferred

• 3+ years of CDL-A driving experience
• Heavy haul or oversized load transportation experience
• Crawler crane transportation experience
• Experience operating lowboy, RGN, detachable neck, and multi-axle trailers
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and cargo securement regulations
• Construction, crane, rigging, or heavy equipment transportation experience
