Part-time Staff- Choir Accompanist

This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary - Assists with events in Fine Arts Department, to perform as piano accompanist for rehearsals, etc.*Since there is no full-time equivalent, employees in this title may work no more than fourteen (14) hours per week.

Required Education - Minimum Bachelor Of Music or equivalent professional performance and/or teaching experience.

Required Experience - Choral accompaniment

Preferred Education - Master of Music in piano performance or collaborative piano, or terminal degree in music with piano emphasis.

Preferred Experience - Professional performance with choral accompaniment experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - To perform as piano accompanist for rehearsals. Additional rehearsals and/or performances may be requested on an as-needed basis. Additional accompaniment may be needed for Opera Workshop class if and when the instructor may request assistance, in which case schedule of services may be coordinated, accordingly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon race, religion, color, sex, age, disability, national or ethnic origin, veteran status or other protected status; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources and observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
