Job description

The Manager of Student Services will be a student-focused professional to develop a holistic support structure for our student body. In this role, identify and manage resources students need to succeed, building meaningful relationships with adult learners who are balancing education with work, family, and life transitions. Have the opportunity to directly impact student success by creating connections, removing barriers, and ensuring every student feels supported throughout their educational journey.
Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Student Services department and Student Services Coordinator (where applicable).
  • Ensure effective communication about student concerns between Education and Student Services.
  • Understand the importance of triaging student needs with other Education Leaders.
  • Responsible for overall success of Student Services department's ability to provide adequate resources for students that ensure their success.

Student Resources
  • Build authentic relationships with students, serving as their primary advocate and resource for navigating challenges
  • Connect students with essential resources including transportation, housing, food assistance, and healthcare
  • Understand and distribute Student Linc services to students
  • Connect new students with peer support networks
  • Develop creative solutions to help students overcome challenges
  • Collaborate with financial aid, student services, and other departments

Financial Aid Support
  • Coordinate internal financial literacy programs and resources
  • Connect students with scholarship opportunities and external financial resources
  • Act as a Liaison between the Financial Aid Department, Business Office, and Education Department with student outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with Business Office on managing and dispersing from the campus student fund

Career Services Support
  • Collaborate and help coordinate career services workshops and events

Activities and Campus Events
  • Manage student engagement activities, clubs, and events that build community and enhance student experience
  • Coordinate and oversee new student orientation and commencement ceremonies that celebrate student achievements
  • Manage federal work-study programs and coordinate student ambassador initiatives
  • Coordinate and student surveys and feedback initiatives

Messaging and Media Support
  • Support social media efforts that showcase student success and build school community
  • Manage screen cloud messaging and delivery
  • Manage and maintain Dean's list and Honor's society lists

Requirements
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with adult learners and understands their unique challenges
  • Naturally organized and able to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Comfortable learning new systems and processes as you grow in the role
  • Excellent communicator who can build trust quickly with students from diverse backgrounds

Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree required or 3 years related experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
