Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring cardiac surgery circulating experience and availability for on-call and weekend coverage.
Job Details
• Work in the CVOR unit of a hospital environment,
• Cardiovascular surgery patient population, covering all services except ophthalmology and transplant,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM,
• On-call requirement with a 3 days on, 3 days off rotation,
• Must be available within 30 minutes of the hospital when on call,
• Weekend requirement limited to on-call coverage only,
• Floating to another facility required during training period,
• May be subject to floating between facilities within the health system as requested,
Job Requirements
• Active IL RN license in hand required; emergency or pending licenses not accepted,
• Current certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, both through AHA,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• BSN required,
• Ability to circulate cardiac surgery required; scrub experience preferred,
• Skills required: Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atherectomy, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), MAZE Procedure, Mitral valve replacement, and Pericardial window,
• Preferred skills: Atrial Septal defect repair, Scrub Cardiovascular Surgery, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD/RVAD),
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year,
• Skills checklist required for consideration,
• Complete employment history required, including any prior roles with the health system or its acquired facilities,
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot be added after consideration,

• Circulate and support cardiac surgery cases across multiple service lines,
• Complete specialty-specific training modules during orientation,
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a local rate,
• Vaccination status must be disclosed for consideration,
