About the RoleClient in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking an Advanced Cardiovascular Nurse to join our Nursing Magnet–designated cardiovascular services team. In this role, you will serve as a clinical leader with advanced skills and expertise in cardiovascular care, driving excellence in patient outcomes, staff education, and evidence-based practice.
You will function independently as a role model, educator, patient/family advocate, consultant, leader, and researcher, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve quality, clinical performance, and the delivery of advanced cardiovascular care.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and coordinate clinical care for patients in advanced cardiovascular programs.
Serve as a resource for cardiovascular nursing best practices, including cardiogenic shock management and mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices (Impella, IABP, ECMO).
Plan, develop, and deliver formal and informal education to enhance nursing staff competencies.
Act as a consultant in developing policies, protocols, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
Facilitate multidisciplinary care teams to assess clinical processes and implement improvements.
Participate in research and quality improvement projects to advance cardiovascular care delivery.
Required QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Active California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
Certification from a national professional specialty organization within 3 years of hire.
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular care within a hospital setting.
Preferred/Highly Desired ExperienceCardiac ICU experience, including cardiogenic shock management and MCS devices (Impella, IABP, ECMO).
Open heart surgery experience.
Expertise in cardiac services such as EKG interpretation, 12-lead, electrophysiology, arrhythmia treatments, and related procedures.
Involvement in evidence-based practice (EBP) and/or research initiatives.
