Overview
Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (=>65 years)

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Specific course work: Graduate of Cardiovascular Program, or in lieu of degree have 10+ years of experience in the Invasive Cath Lab

Preferred Education:

  • Graduate CVT program with a RCIS certification.

Necessary Skills:

  • Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult).
  • Be able to use hospital computer system.
  • Knowledge of filing system.
  • Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility
  • Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics.
  • Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge.
  • Proficiency in using Cath lab equipment.
  • Patient advocate skills.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

  •  BLS from the American Heart Association ACLS from the American Heart Association
  • Within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position, must be Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

Required Experience: Less than 1 year experience in cardiac cath labs and/or direct patient care
