  Thank you for your interest in the pediatric general cardiologist opportunity. Below you will find a detailed description and requirements of the position. General Pediatric Cardiologist Career Opportunity 
 Louisville, Kentucky  About the Position
  • Opportunity to diagnose and treat pediatric cardiology conditions at Norton Childrens Heart Institute, based in Louisville, and regional outpatient offices and inpatient units, including the cardiac intensive care unit and progressive care (step-down cardiac) unit
  • Ideal candidate has at least one to three years of clinical experience and
    demonstrated excellence in outpatient pediatric cardiology care
  • Supported by on-site clinical support staff and sonographer
  • Academic position as an assistant or associate professor of pediatrics at
    the University of Louisville School of Medicine
  • Team providing full-service congenital heart disease care, including
    complex neonatal surgery; pediatric ventricular assist device; and heart transplant, catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
  • Growing practice of 23 cardiologists, 13 advanced practice providers and other specially trained cardiac staff
  • Busy clinical practice performing over 10,000 echocardiograms a year, including:
    • 3,500 inpatient echocardiograms
    • 2,800 tele-echocardiograms
    • 900 fetal echocardiograms
    • 200 transesophageal echocardiograms
  • Echocardiography laboratory at Norton Child Hospital is accredited in pediatric transthoracic, pediatric transesophageal and fetal echocardiography by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission
  • Norton Childrens Hospital and Novak Center for Childrens Health are accredited Adult Congenital Heart Disease Comprehensive Care Centers by the Adult Congenital Heart Association
  • Established quality assurance processes following quality metrics from the American College of Cardiology Adult Congenital & Pediatric Cardiology Quality Network (QNet)
  • Institute participates in numerous national registries and collaboratives, including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Congenital Heart Surgeons Society, Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4) and National Pediatric Cardiology-Quality Improvement Collaborative
  • Research opportunities with resources available through Norton Childrens Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine
