Job description

What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.
Shift Details
  • 4:00 am to 2:30 pm - Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday

Responsibilities
  • Ensure carriers follow guidelines in day-to-day operations based on Cardinal Health's policies and procedures
  • Freight monitoring and KPI reporting
  • Expediting urgent shipping requests
  • Handle customer complaints, investigate delivery issues and report outcome to internal Customer Service Group
  • Provide guidance or technical assistance to organizational projects
  • Willingness to train and be certified to drive material handling equipment as requires by job duty. Example equipment in the facility includes order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience, preferred
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution
