Position Overview

Cardinal Title Group is seeking an experienced Settlement Attorney to join its Chantilly, VA team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with real estate professionals, buyers, sellers, and lenders while supporting a high-volume residential settlement practice.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Virginia real estate transactions, title review, and residential settlements, along with a client-focused approach and the ability to build relationships within the real estate community. The candidate must be able to conduct Real Estate settlements while also effectively performing the job functions outlined below.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and interpret deeds, contracts, powers of attorney, trust documents, title reports, and other settlement-related legal documents

  • Provide legal guidance and support to real estate agents, lenders, and clients throughout the transaction process

  • Review land records and chain-of-title documentation

  • Assist in resolving title issues, claims, and curative matters

  • Develop and deliver educational presentations and training programs for real estate professionals

  • Support additional legal and settlement-related matters as needed

Qualifications
  • Active license to practice law in Virginia required

  • Minimum of 3 years of residential real estate title and settlement experience

  • Strong knowledge of Virginia real estate law, title examination, and settlement procedures

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills

  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm from the Chantilly, VA office

The anticipated salary range for this position is $150,000–$170,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
