Overview

CentraState Medical Center's new Cardiovascular Interventional suite offers the complete integration of leading-edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease and other conditions using minimally invasive alternatives to surgical procedures. Our 'Suite" team consists of expert Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology technologists and Registered Nurses collaborating to provide innovative personalized care to our community.

The Cardiovascular Interventional Suite is currently seeking a Cardiac Cath/Interventional Radiology RN. This role involves providing nursing services to Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology patients, encompassing both technical procedures and patient care in accordance with ANA practice standards and specialty organization guidelines. The position also includes 24-hour on-call coverage on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities
  • Obtains a complete nursing history and baseline assessment that is systematic, consistent, and continuous. This assessment is communicated effectively and documented.
  • Appropriately analyzes health status data to determine nursing diagnosis and needs for appropriate nursing care, medical intervention or services of other clinical professionals.
  • Identifies patient problems and formulates nursing diagnosis according to physical, psychological, spiritual/cultural and educational needs in conjunction with a multi disciplinary approach.
  • Consistently includes patient and family in the development of an individualized plan of care.
  • Administers medications as needed following CSHS policies and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Takes immediate and appropriate actions in the event of a medication variance occurrence.
  • Maintains and upgrades own nursing practice and development.
  • Recognizes adverse reactions to medications and takes immediate and appropriate actions.
  • Recognizes changes in patient condition and/or emergencies situations and takes immediate and appropriate actions.
  • Participates in unit conferences to discuss quality issues and quality improvement strategies.
  • Delegates components of care to non-professional caregivers as appropriate.
  • Makes decisions that demonstrated knowledge of nursing practice; utilizes sound nursing judgment in clinical and patient care management situations.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills in the care of patients and in the coordination of care to assure the achievement of maximum outcome
  • Documents pain assessment, intervention and reassessment.
  • Provides appropriate interventions for pain.
  • Documents reassessment of pain as per hospital policy.
  • Provides patient/family education regarding cardiac risk factors.
  • Notifies physician for unrelieved pain as indicated.
  • Introduces plan for healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Educates patient in cardiac disease process and introduces cardiac rehab recovery plan.
  • Educates patient on cardiac cath/interventional radiology post procedure instructions and provider follow up. 
  • Supports operations by demonstrating ability and willingness to float between units as an RN and provides 1:1 patient observation when deemed necessary

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 3 years of hire.
  • Two years of RN Cath lab/PCI experience required.
  • Current NJ RN License required. 
  • CPR Certification required. 
  • ACLS Certification required. 
  • Basic knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and hemodynamics.

Compensation Range: $44.00 - $74.80 per hour

 

The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training.  As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range. 

Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.
