Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts (18:45โ€“07:15) | Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 36 Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to cardiac and stroke patients including pre- and post-procedure monitoring for pacemaker implantation, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, cardiac catheterization, and peripheral vascular interventions
  • Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone, and monitor patients on telemetry and pulse oximetry
  • Care for patients presenting with unstable angina, low-risk chest pain, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA, and TIA in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
  • Manage patient assignments of up to 6 patients with potential for full assignment turnover within a shift, supported by a team lead for admissions and discharges
  • Operate and monitor specialized equipment including telemetry, high-flow O2, non-rebreather masks, and BiPAP (chronic use only)
  • Document using Pyxis, EPIC (Dimensions), and SBAR communication framework; float within or near the facility as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a cardiac stepdown or similarly high-acuity unit with comparable patient ratios
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
  • Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring
  • Experience with cardiac drips and PCI patient care
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience managing TR bands and titrating Cardizem drips
  • Familiarity with EPIC (Dimensions) and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
  • Comfort working in a high-volume unit with rapid patient turnover (approximately 78โ€“90 patients per week)
