Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Specialist with 2+ years of large hospital Cath Lab experience, including STEMI care and advanced cardiac procedures, for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details
  • Cardiac Catheterization Lab setting at a large academic medical center
  • Patient population includes those requiring STEMI care, pulmonary embolism treatment, cardiogenic shock management, ECMO, and diagnostic and interventional treatment of CAD
  • Performs digital radiographic imaging of the heart, peripheral vessels, and other required structures
  • Equipment used includes IVUS, Combo Map, ICE, HeartLab, and standard cardiac cath lab imaging systems
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • One night of on-call per week (5:30 PM โ€“ 7:00 AM) and one weekend on-call per month (Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM)
  • Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a large hospital Cardiac Cath Lab providing STEMI care and advanced cardiac cath procedures
  • One of the following certifications is required: ARRT (Radiation Therapy or Radiology) or RCIS through CCI
  • One of the following education backgrounds is required: graduation from an accredited Radiologic Science program, a special procedures program, an accredited school of professional nursing, or completion of a cardiac catheterization training course โ€” transcripts required
  • License required if applicable
  • Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include assisting physicians with image acquisition, controlling radiographic equipment, and setting x-ray acquisition parameters for cardiac and peripheral procedures
  • Performs daily room QC checks, procedure room preparation, and in-store supply and inventory management
  • Documents patient data for records, Apollo reporting, charge entry, and image archiving; retrieves stored information from Witt, HeartLab, ICE, and IVUS systems
  • Delivers pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care including sterile field prep, line and device preparation, and IV insertion
  • Operates, troubleshoots, and performs routine maintenance on cardiac cath lab equipment; initiates service requests for malfunctioning equipment
  • May perform lead worker duties including staff training, education, and work assignment
  • Background check and drug screen required prior to start; results may take at least 2 weeks to process
