Job description

Who We Are

At Freedom Enterprises, we own and operate 60+ Scooter’s Coffee locations across KS, MO, NE, and IA, and we’re growing fast. We’re all about great coffee, hard work, and positive energy.

We’re looking for an Equipment and Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep our shops running smoothly and our equipment in top shape. You’ll report to the Facilities Manager and work closely with our store teams.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be our go-to for keeping equipment and facilities safe, clean, and working right.

Main tasks include:

  • Maintain and repair espresso machines (Franke certification provided)

  • Fix equipment: brewers, fridges/freezers, water filters, ice machines, HVAC

  • Light plumbing, basic electrical, and general handyman work

  • Support new store setups and installations

  • Keep records of work orders and repairs

  • Travel for emergency repairs (within 3.5 hrs of KC) - Could include occasional overnight stays (ex: 1-2 times per quarter)

  • Check in daily at the KC office for assignments (M–F)

What You’ll Bring

Must-Haves:

  • 2+ years of general maintenance experience

  • Experience working on equipment or machinery

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation

  • Comfortable working occasional evenings/weekends

  • Able to lift heavy equipment and work in tight spaces

  • Basic tools (we’ll provide any specialty ones)

  • Reliable, self-starting attitude

  • Willigness to travel 10-20% of the time, supporting repairs/renovations for stores in KS, MO, IA, and NE

  • Ability to manage tasks independently

  • Ability to use personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)

  • Background check required

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with Franke machines (or open to obtaining certification - company provided)

  • Familiarity with refrigeration and/or HVAC systems

  • Basic electrical/plumbing knowledge

  • EPA 608 certification is a plus (not required)
