If this aligns with your values and you want to join a leader in the banking industry, we are hiring for a Senior Card Finance Analyst that will oversee the end-to-end financial accounting and reporting processes for the Card Services division, ensuring accurate collection, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of financial information to support operational and strategic objectives. This position is an individual contributor.
MAJOR DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Manages the operational accounting functions to include month-end close, journal entries, research & analysis, and financial reporting related to the card services division.
• Manages the administration of accounting systems and ensures accuracy and completeness.
• Manages reconciliation processes, cooperating with Corporate Accounting and preparing ad hoc reconciliations as warranted, or requested by the Director of Finance.
• Coordinates the processing of monthly and quarterly external reporting to various regulatory bodies.
• Upholds internal controls across assigned accounting functions.
• Supports management in variance analysis and income statement research.
• Assists the Director of Finance and Director of Internal Audit with requests for various audits and examinations.
• Assists in annual forecasting related to the Card Services division.
REQUIREMENTS / DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 5-7 years of experience with credit card program operations, credit card processing, and/or credit card networks.
• Comprehensive understanding of card network assessments, interchange, core platforms, and accounting principles (including billing production, reconciliations, and journal entries/retros).
• Ability to gather and manipulate data from various sources to generate, analyze, and interpret internal, external, and regulatory financial reporting surrounding credit card portfolios.
• Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft office products.
• Strong financial reporting literacy.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and manage fluctuating priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and to exercise prudent judgment, within deadline and time-sensitive constraints.
• Good interpersonal skills and be able to work within, and foster a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and across all levels.
Preferred:
• Experience with SQL and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with card network and processor billing elements, in general and in view of proper accounting treatment.
• Experience managing and maintaining vendor contracts.
