Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Warehouse/On-Site Packer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently packing and preparing orders for shipment according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely and accurately pack orders according to packing lists and instructions.
  • Ensure that all items are appropriately labeled and packaged for shipment.
  • Inspect products for defects and damages before packing.
  • Operate packaging machinery such as tape dispensers and sealing machines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the packing area.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
  • Safely and efficiently pack a variety of products according to specific guidelines and requirements
  • Utilize appropriate packing materials such as bubble wrap, foam, and packing peanuts to ensure the protection of delicate items
  • Organize packed items within shipping containers to maximize space utilization and minimize movement during transit.
  • Label packages accurately and legibly for easy identification and tracking.
  • Construct custom crates based on product dimensions and shipping specifications.
  • Use woodworking tools and equipment to cut, assemble, and reinforce crates as necessary.
  • Ensure crates are sturdy and secure to withstand handling and transportation challenges.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to determine optimal crating solutions for various types of cargo.
  • Repair and refurbish wooden crates, pallets, and shipping containers as needed.
  • Fabricate wooden components for packaging purposes, such as skids, braces, and supports.
  • Maintain carpentry tools and equipment in good working condition through regular maintenance and cleaning.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while operating woodworking machinery.
  • Conduct inspections of packed and crated items to verify compliance with quality standards and shipping regulations.
  • Address any issues related to packaging integrity or product damage promptly and proactively.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to implement improvements to packing and crating processes as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or packing environment preferred.
  • Vocational training or certification in carpentry or related field is a plus.
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card preferred.
  • DG/Hazmat Packing experience a plus!
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
